The story behind the shirt
About this shirt
Dad at Baseball: Big Swing. Backyard Rules.
All Dad asked for was a nice, easy pitch. He's waved off three so far. One was too high. One was too low. The last one interrupted his stance.
He adjusts his grip, points toward the back fence and checks that everyone saw him point.
The bases are a towel, a flowerpot and something from the garage. The crowd consists of family members who were promised a quick game.
Then he connects.
The ball disappears into the shrubs. Dad starts his victory lap while everyone else negotiates whether that counts as a home run.
He remembers a backyard rule that settles it. Funny how that rule always shows up right after his at-bat.
DAD AT PLAY. Please allow extra time for the replay.
Dad Approved because the bases are makeshift and the confidence is regulation.
