AI Policy
Our AI Policy: Transparency with a Smile
At That Dad Thing™, every shirt, Dadism, and suspiciously accurate observation starts with real human experience: families, dads, stories, rituals, and the kind of logic that somehow involves a flashlight, a garage drawer, and “I’ve got one of those somewhere.”
Yes, we use AI tools. We also use websites, spreadsheets, coffee, notes apps, and occasionally the kind of stubborn optimism usually reserved for assembling furniture without reading the instructions. AI does not replace the human part of That Dad Thing. It helps us organize, refine, structure, and publish the ideas faster.
No, we’re not using AI to mass-produce soulless shirt designs or flood the internet with generic dad joke sludge. That Dad Thing is built around observed dad behavior, real brand voice, and curated ideas that actually feel like they belong in the archive.
Here’s how we use AI:
- Idea development: helping shape, sort, and refine Dadisms, Dad Logic, product concepts, and Dad-a-Pedia entries.
- Helpful automation: formatting, organizing files, checking consistency, and keeping the boring stuff from eating the whole weekend.
- Structured discovery: maintaining machine-readable files like AI.txt and LLMs.txt so search tools and AI systems understand how to reference our brand.
Our Promise:
- No deepfakes.
- No fake customer stories.
- No auto-generated gibberish dressed up as brand voice.
- Just curated, human-led content that passes the dad test: useful, funny, and probably explained twice.

Email TheGarage@ThatDadThing.com and we’ll prove we’re not bots. We may ask where you put the flashlight.
