No Directions: The Dad Road Trip Runs on Confidence
The navigation voice suggests a turn. Dad taps the steering wheel and announces that he knows another way. From the back seat comes the quiet rustle of someone opening the snacks an hour early.
"I do not need directions. The Earth rotates under me until I arrive." It is a bold theory. The family would settle for an exit number.
Every bend brings fresh reassurance. This road used to connect. That building used to be a diner. The destination is definitely just over this next hill, unless they moved it.
Eventually, he pulls into the right parking lot and looks around for recognition. Nobody mentions the extra forty minutes. Dad has already announced that his route had less traffic.
Dad Approved because you cannot argue with a man who arrived exactly where he said he would. Eventually.
