Stay In Your Lane: Dad Has the Tongs
Someone thinks he should flip the burgers. Someone else suggests more heat. A third person, who arrived carrying only a bag of chips, has a surprisingly detailed theory about smoke.
Dad listens. Dad nods. Dad does the little double-click with the tongs.
Then comes the look.
"Stay In Your Lane, Bud."
It's delivered with a grin, but the tongs stay firmly in his hand. He has spent years learning this grill's moods, hot spots, and one wheel that refuses to turn. He can handle a burger.
A few minutes later, everyone is eating. The advice stops. Dad takes a seat and waits for somebody to ask how he gets them so good.
He has time to explain. Dinner is handled.
Dad Approved because the guy holding the chips can probably trust the guy holding the tongs.
