Submit a Dad Sighting

Dads Observed. Celebrated. Archived.
Dad-a-Pedia works because dad behavior is happening everywhere: driveways, grocery stores, airport pickups, hardware aisles, back patios, little league bleachers, and garages that definitely contain a project from 2017.
When you see a dad doing something unmistakably dad-like, that is not just a moment. That is evidence.
What Counts as a Dad Sighting?
- A phrase only a dad would say.
- A ritual performed with unnecessary confidence.
- A tool, remote, grill tong, thermostat, cooler, mower, or flashlight being handled with ceremonial importance.
- A moment that makes someone say, “That is such a dad thing.”
How to Capture It
- What happened? Keep it short and specific.
- Where did it happen? Kitchen, garage, car, store, yard, airport, etc.
- What made it dad-like? The phrase, the posture, the confidence, the unnecessary explanation.
- Could it become a shirt? If yes, we definitely want it.
Example Submission
Dad heard Journey in the car, turned it up, tapped the steering wheel, and told everyone, “Now this is music.”

We are not here to mock dads. We are here to observe them, celebrate them, and preserve their ways for future generations of eye-rolling children.
